Preloading surveys

Ensuring the safe transportation of steel cargoes begins long before the vessel sets sail. Our preloading surveys provide a critical assessment of the cargo condition prior to sailing.  This ensures that Mate’s Receipts and/ or Bills of Lading are appropriately claused and that pre-existing damage is identified and not later claimed against the vessel.

Steel products are highly susceptible to damage from improper handling, inadequate dunnage and exposure to moisture. Even minor defects can lead to costly claims, delays, or disputes between parties involved. 

Vessel on and off hire surveys

When chartering a vessel, a thorough inspection is crucial to accurately document existing damages to the vessel's holds, deck space and handling equipment and identify any recent damage from the last charter period upon redelivery. We conduct independent and precise surveys to objectively assess the vessel's condition. 

Furthermore the quantity of bunkers on board the vessel are carefully measured and calculated upon commencement or finish of the charter period.

Bunker quantity surveys

We perform independent bunker surveys during fuel deliveries to seagoing vessels. Our service includes accurate measurement of fuel quantities before and after delivery, verification of documentation, and detection of discrepancies or potential losses.

Outturn surveys

We carry out independent outturn surveys focused primarily on steel cargoes. These inspections are performed at the time of discharge to verify the condition and quantity of the cargo as delivered, compared to loading records.

We also investigate any visible or suspected damage occurring before, during, or after discharge. Our detailed assessments help determine the cause and extent of damage, providing clear documentation to support claims handling and liability determination.

Heavy lift cargo
